Illinois Bar Associations - Statewide

  • Illinois State Bar Association
    Founded in 1877, the Illinois State Bar Association is the premier legal association in the state. As a voluntary organization, the Association’s primary focus is to help Illinois lawyers practice more effectively and efficiently by providing time and money-saving services.


  • Arab American Bar Association of Illinois
    Arab American Bar Association of Illinois is a professional association of attorneys dedicated to the rule of law, equal justice, fellowship, legal education, and community service. We are firmly committed to the principle of quality legal representation for all, regardless of background. Our bar provides legal advisory services to the community, attorney referral programs, County and State judicial evaluations, educational forums, speaker programs, scholarships, and information on employment and networking opportunities in the community. Membership is open to any licensed attorney or law student sharing in our goals, regardless of ancestry, race, color or creed.


  • Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area
    In 1987, a spirited band of lawyers joined to form the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area (AABA) on the belief that a professional bar association could serve not only the interests of its members, but also the community from which many of its members came.


  • Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois
    In February 1951, a group of Greek attorneys founded the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois ("HBA"), the largest and oldest Greek-American bar association in Illinois. Most of the early members were born in Greece, came to this country as young immigrants and were educated in colleges and law schools in Chicago, while in most cases, working their way through school. As time went on, first generation Greek American lawyers became more prevalent as members as they were products of an ethnic culture that mandated learning and education. Nowadays, the Hellenic Bar Association consists of multi-generational Greek Americans and Philhellenes.


  • Illinois Creditors Bar Association
    Founded in 1995, the Illinois Creditors Bar Association is a statewide organization for attorneys practicing in the area of creditors rights. Our members concentrate in various areas including: commercial collections, consumer collections, foreclosures, evictions, subrogation, and bankruptcy. With 221 members, the Illinois Creditors Bar Association is the largest of its kind in the country.


  • Muslim Bar Association
    Today there are over 100 Muslim lawyers working in the metropolitan Chicagoland region. The Muslim lawyer community today is diverse in race, ethnicity and practice setting. MBA members are partners in small, medsized and large law firms, they hold senior counsel positions with numerous corporations and they serve as assistant state's attorneys, public defenders and with other state and federal agencies.

    WBAI's mission is to ensure the success of women attorneys through business and professional development and to advocate for women's interests. Located in downtown Chicago, WBAI offers networking events, substantive law committees, and a judicial candidate evaluation program.
